Traditional Abruzzo cuisine

The Abruzzo cuisine is simple, and has, as a common factor, the natural products of the various areas. Home made pasta (tagliatelle, gnocchi, ravioli) has the leading role as "the main course", thanks to its particular taste and fillings, prepared in different ways according to the traditions of the different localities.

Meat is also  very popular, firstly Lamb, cooked in different ways and "porchetta", a whole roast piglet stuffed with rosemary. Cakes and pastries are worth a try. Among the staples are Mostaccioli di Scanno.
